The Nechako Nordics held a double cross competition as part of their spring windup celebrations on March 12.

Double cross is a competition where teams race down three different challenging down hill courses. In total 38 skiers participated in the fun.

The weather and skiing conditions were fabulous.

Cool conditions the night before made the course nice and fast while temperatures rose during the day which allowed many competitors to ski in their T-shirts. Music from the clubhouse added to the festive mood.

Hot chocolate and lunch was provided to all competitors.

The Yellow Team made up of Jemma Blattner, Ronan Blattner, Ethan Wheeler, Zackary Bennett, Nicole McBride, Ateya Forsdick, Clayton Giesbrecht, Tyreed Schumann and Simon Nemethy won the competition by only one second over their competitors. Simon Nemethy also won the “Best Air Ever” competition!

Thanks to our groomers, Traugott and Markus Klien and the 27 other volunteers that helped put on this successful event.

Special thanks goes to Cross Country Canada for providing beautiful black toques as incentive awards for all competitors.
