Annual awards honour best commercial and industrial buildings in Thompson, Okanagan and Kootenays

Almost 40 buildings are finalists in the 10th annual Thompson Okanagan Kootenay Commercial Building awards.

“There are many wonderful projects in this year’s event, which ties last year for the most ever for the awards,” said event co-ordinator Mark MacDonald. “Every year the building designs are becoming more elaborate, and it reflects well on the quality of commercial and industrial construction in the region.”

Black Press is a media sponsor for the event, with gold sponsors RE/MAX Commercial, MNP LLP and the Southern Interior Construction Association.

The awards, which will be announced Sept. 20 at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna, reflect the best in commercial and industrial buildings finished before July 31, 2018 in the regions.

This year, the finalists for Penticton are The Beechwood, Penticton Nissan, Robinson Lighting and Bath and Time Winery.

Farther south, the Coast Oliver Hotel and the Checkmate Winery have been nominated in Oliver, the Public Works and Government Services Canada Point of Entry in Osoyoos and the Twisted Hills Cider Dome in Cawston.

Tickets to the event are $125, and can be booked through www.businessexaminer.ca/events.
