Sign panels for Brilliant Bridge Regional Park were installed over the Thanksgiving weekend by Walter Volovsek.

It consists of a sequence of eight panels which deal with various aspects of Kootenay River history. They are presented in two frames on both approaches to the suspension bridge.

The panels are a mirror image of the Castlegar Spirit Square sequence, previously developed by Volovsek to focus on regional history, centered mainly on the Columbia River. One difference adopted was the colour change for the river motif, which is blue for the Kootenay rather than the green chosen for the Columbia.

The first panel, titled Conflicting Visions, deals with the relationship between natives and Europeans. It will be installed once the text is acceptable to all the parties mentioned.
