A new day for Chronicle readers March 2

Wednesday, free distribution will help us bring more news, advertising to more than 4,000 readers

The Ladysmith-Chemainus Chronicle is always looking for ways to improve its services to readers and advertisers. The word ‘community’ is part of who we are.

So we’re making some changes that will allow us to reach more of you with the news that’s closest to home, and with the advertising that will encourage you to take advantage of the great deals and services offered by local businesses.

This is the last edition of the Tuesday Chronicle. We’re going to shift our publication-day to Wednesday, a move that allows us to make another important change in how we reach out to you.

As of March 2, our first Wednesday edition, we will be delivered free to your door by a newspaper carrier by 6 p.m. for most people living within Ladysmith.

Of course, we wish we could do the same for our readers everywhere, but the cost of Canada Post delivery outside Ladysmith itself means we will have to continue with paid circulation in other areas.

Former subscribers who receive a newspaper by carrier can expect to receive a refund in the mail shortly.

The immediate benefit of this change is we will more than double our circulation, to over 4,000. That means more of you will receive the news we deliver week in, week out.

Our coverage of local government, entertainment, sports, business and community helps build bridges; having a larger audience means those bridges will connect even more people.

For advertisers Total Market Coverage means more readers will learn about the goods and services you offer. In today’s competitive environment getting your word out to the customers within your market is key, and we are committed to helping you do that.

Of course the Chronicle will continue to offer the same high level of service and professionalism to readers and advertisers. Some things may change, but the essentials of striving to be a great newspaper always remain the same.
