Abbotsford firefighters make awareness video

The Abbotsford Fire Fighters Association has made a video to create awareness about what they do on and off the job.

Association vice-president Wade Wood said the video was producedĀ  to “show the public what we are doing when we go by with lights flashing and sirens blaring, or if you see us out at a public function when we are off duty.”

The career firefighters in Abbotsford have been affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fire Fighters since 1982 and are designated as local 2864.

Wood said the members are a proud group who work as a team on a daily basis, whether responding to an emergency or donating their timeĀ  to a cause when off duty.

The video can be viewed at YouTube at http://tinyurl.com/kvtxu77.

The local also has a Twitter account (@IAFF_Local_2864) and a Facebook page (“Abbotsford Fire Fighters Association Local 2864“).
