An Abbotsford man pleaded guilty on Friday in Abbotsford provincial court to a charge of possessing child pornography.

A sentencing hearing for Lukas Michael Litten, 35, has been scheduled for March 17.

A second charge of importing or distributing child porn is expected to be stayed at that time.

Litten was charged in July following an investigation that began in October 2013 based on work conducted by an Abbotsford Police detective.

At the time of Litten’s arrest, Const. Ian MacDonald said the detective had “proactively gone after any and all evidence” on cases involving child sexual abuse for the last three years or so.

This resulted in police executing a search warrant at Litten’s home on July 24 of this year and seizing several items, including computers, hard drives and storage devices.

Litten was released from custody on $600 bail and under court-ordered conditions that include not communicating with or being alone with anyone under the age of 18 and not possessing or using a device capable of connecting to the internet.
