The Abbotsford Police Department was called in to help track down a possible border jumper early Thursday morning.

Const. Ian MacDonald said U.S. Border Patrol notified police at about 12:45 a.m. that a man on foot appeared to be heading north in a remote area.

Police searched the area near Old Yale Road and Corbould Road – south of Vye Road – in southeast Abbotsford, and the Air 1 police helicopter assisted.

MacDonald said the man did not cross into Canada and was arrested on the U.S. side.
