Abbotsford Police investigate assault on Olund Road

Police were called to the scene just before 9:30 on Friday night.

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is investigating an assault that took place Friday night.

Police were called at about 9:20 p.m. to a farm in the 5400 block of Olund Road to investigate a report of a suspicious incident.

At that location, officers found evidence of a struggle on the property, according to Const. Ian MacDonald.

Police officers, a K9 unit and a police helicopter were used to search the area, and a man in his 20s was located nearby.

He was transported to hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The APD’s major crime unit is continuing to investigate.

MacDonald said the victim, who has no prior negative interactions with police, and witnesses have been cooperative with investigators.
