An Abbotsford student won a bronze medal and a $1,000 scholarship at the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Windsor, Ont.
The fair ran from May 10 to 17, with award recipients announced on Thursday, May 15.
Miranda Koetsch, a student of Abbotsford Traditional Secondary, was rewarded for her project “The Green Sticker.”
She was among the bronze medallists who received a $1,000 entrance scholarship to Western University in London, Ont.
Koetsch was one of three Abbotsford students who qualified to attend the national competition after being chosen at the Fraser Valley Regional Science Fair held April 1 to 4 at the Abbotsford campus of University of the Fraser Valley.
The other two students were Charanpreet Mahal and Gurmeen Banipal of W. J. Mouat Secondary with their project “Sensing Beyond the Way.”
They did not receive any awards at the national event.
The regional event involved 210 students from 24 schools.
