Accident closes highway for hours

Lougheed Hwy was shut down for four hours Friday afternoon after a head on collision occurred on the east side of Mt. Woodside.

Lougheed Hwy was shut down for four hours Friday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. after a head on collision occurred on the east side of Mt. Woodside and Lougheed Hwy.

“The driver of the Infinity had to be extricated from the vehicle and then airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital,” said Agassiz Fire Chief Wayne Dyer.

The passenger of the Infinity was transported to Chilliwack General Hospital and the driver of the Dodge pick-up and passenger was left with the RCMP.
