An accident involving a sport utility vehicle and a two-door sedan in the city’s north end made for a slower than normal commute for motorists on Friday morning.
Nanaimo Fire Rescue along with Nanaimo RCMP and B.C. Ambulance Service were called to an accident involving a Toyota 4Runner and Honda Civic near the Uplands Drive and Rutherford Road intersection, near Nanaimo North Town Centre, at approximately 8 a.m. Friday.
Eastbound traffic along Uplands Drive before Rutherford Road was reduced to one lane while emergency responders attended the scene. Westbound traffic along Uplands Drive was also reduced to a single lane as crews cleared the scene.
Nanaimo Fire Rescue said it didn’t yet have a report on whether there were any injuries in the crash.
