A Vernon woman suffered serious injuries in a mid-afternoon automobile accident Tuesday.
The 23-year-old woman was northbound in the 7800 block of Pleasant Valley Road in a Volkswagen Cabriolet, shortly after 3:30 p.m., when she struck a southbound Ford F350 pick-up truck, driven by an Armstrong man.
Police report it appears the Volkswagen crossed the centre line.
The woman had to be extricated from her vehicle by emergency personnel.
She was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital suffering from extensive internal injuries. Police report she was later transferred to another hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Police are investigating the possibility speed was a contributing factor in the accident.
