The man who was allegedly involved in a shooting with a Cranbrook RCMP officer on October 2 appeared in Cranbrook Provincial Court Monday to ask that his charges be waived to Port Coquitlam.
Nicholas Bullock, 26, is charged with robbery, possession of stolen property over $5,000, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The charges are in connection with a carjacking outside of Creston that ended in a police-involved shooting in Cranbrook.
Before Judge Ron Webb entered the courtroom, Bullock told duty counsel Rick Strahl via video link that he would like his charges moved to Port Coquitlam, to which Strahl replied the Crown was not prepared to waive the charges out of the area. The Crown was represented by Lynal Doerksen once court convened.
Once Judge Webb was sitting, Bullock told him he would like all his charges from New Westminster, Cranbrook and Port Coquitlam “consolidated” and brought to Port Coquitlam.
Bullock was advised by Judge Webb that the matter would have to be put over to Nov. 19. Court heard that the Crown was not prepared to consent to a waiving of the charges at this time.
He is facing charges in Port Coquitlam from September 13 of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon without a license, possession of a firearm contrary to order, and breach of a probation order. He is also charged in New Westminster with uttering threats dated December 2011.
Bullock will appear again in Cranbrook Provincial Court via video link on November 19.
