Thompson Valley Players are excited to announce they will soon be hosting their first theatre workshop of 2019 in the Barriere community.
“Acting Up” is a one day workshop for youth ages nine to 16 years and will run from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, in the Barriere Ridge gymnasium.
“Thanks to Barriere and Area Literacy Outreach, who are sponsoring this workshop, there will be no fee for the young participants,” says TV Players representative Beverly Murphy. “This workshop will offer script reading, learning the art of improv, theatre games, group challenges, and creating short skits.”
She also added the TV Players group are looking forward to getting their year off to a good start, and especially by doing it during Interior Savings Unplug and Play Week in support children and families.
There will be a pre-registration for the “Acting Up” Workshop so that TV Players can plan on how many participants will be attending. To register call NTACS at 250-672-0033, or if you have questions about the workshop call Beverly Murphy at 250-619-5684.
Unplug and Play Week starts in the Barriere Community on Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Barriere Ridge for a drop in Indoor Teddy Bear Picnic with music by Gordie West, games, tasty snacks, Lego, and oodles of fun for children with families or caregivers.
