Adam Fras, a dedicated community volunteer and past Parksville firefighter, is now a candidate for Parksville council in the Oct. 20 municipal election.
If elected, Fras said he promises to demonstrate his dedication and proven ability of critical thinking and taking action.
“A vibrant community is one that includes, and can respond to fresh perspectives and is backed by hard work of committed individuals,” Fras wrote in a news release. “As a hard-working father with over a decade of being actively involved in volunteering in our community — from mentoring youth to serving five years on the Parksville Fire Department, and even establishing successful community fundraisers — I have proven I am more then my words. I use critical thinking combined with action to make a difference.”
Driven by a desire for strong leadership that brings safe and peaceful living, Fras said he continues to act with the courage and commitment required to make well thought out decisions about Parksville’s future.
“I bring with me an education in business administration from the University of Victoria, along with experience and background as a volunteer firefighter and commercial pilot,” he said.
“I would like to see our council focus on making peaceful living affordable for families and hold the line on tax increases. We must address community safety by redirecting police efforts towards the increased crime our community has faced over the years. As well, we must maintain our pristine natural beauty we are known for so people can enjoy and make shared memories surrounded by nature in Parksville.”
Fras said he looks forward to taking on the challenges that the city will face together.
“With your continued support, I will be your representative; one who offers the vitality and transparency that Parksville needs and deserves,” he said.
