A new calendar went live on www.crestonvalleyadvance.ca earlier this week, making it easier for users to submit and promote their events.
The new calendar doesn’t require users to log in or have a password, and listings can be posted on the websites of Black Press’s other B.C. newspapers.
“Events can also be shared on Facebook and Twitter directly from the calendar, which gives each listing a far greater reach,” said Creston Valley Advance editor Brian Lawrence. “And the new calendar even has a space for an image, such as your logo or a rehearsal photo.”
Submissions to the calendar are, of course, free, but must meet certain guidelines — basically, anything that is not a business-oriented sale is fair game. Each posting will be checked over by someone in the Advance’s newsroom, and events will be posted within 48 hours of their submission.
“There is a lot going on in the Creston Valley, and we’re pleased to have a ‘one-stop shop’ that allows you to promote your event in Creston and throughout the province,” said Lawrence.
