Two drivers were both taken to hospital after their vehicles were involved in an intersection collision Monday morning.

The Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Harvey Avenue at Cooper Road. Apparently, a semi tractor trailer was stalled in the middle westbound lane when an eastbound Chevrolet Blazer attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Cooper. The tractor trailer was obstructing visibility and the driver, a 52-year-old from Grande Prairie, Alberta, was unable to see oncoming traffic until a westbound Nissan Sentra impacted her vehicle on the passenger’s side. The force of the collision caused the Blazer to overturn onto its side; both vehicles suffering extensive damage.

The woman and a 22-year-old West Kelowna man were both taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 52-year-old woman was issued a violation ticket for Failing to Yield.
