Barriere AG Foods customer, Paige Lampreau, is the online winner of $5,000 in AG Foods Grocery Gift Certificates, a top prize in the AG Foods Great Grocery Giveway promotion.
Lampreau, who lives in Chu Chua, was presented with her gift certificates last Tuesday by proprietors Ivan and Louisa Lee at their Barriere store.
“This is awesome,” said Lampreau, “When AG’s head office called me I thought they were going to tell me I had won a $50 gift certificate, but this is awesome, this is a lot of groceries.”
Lampreau noted the fifty $100 dollar gift certificates will be contributing to feeding her family of six.
Another winner was Dori Lynn of Barriere. Lynn became a lucky winner in the Great Grocery Giveaway when her name was drawn from the ballot box at Barriere AG Foods; she was then notified that she had won a 60 second shopping spree at the Barriere store.
Lynn made good use of her 60 second shopping spree on Tuesday morning. She rushed into the meat department of the store and quickly and methodically filled her shopping cart with $459 of merchandise before her time was up.
Ivan Lee said, “The last time we had a 60 second shopping spree here the winner collected just over $200. Dori was organized and she knew what she wanted and where to go. She did really well collecting $459 in meat.”
This is the second time that Barriere AG Foods has had a big winner in the Great Grocery Giveaway. A number of years ago Dixon resident Tina Vesper won the top prize of $5200 in groceries.
The AG Foods Great Grocery Giveaway promotion ran at all AG Foods stores throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan from Jan. 8 through Feb. 18. Along with the $5,000 in AG Foods Grocery Gift Certificates, there was over $270,000 in prizes available to be won, with one in eight tickets winning instantly.
