COVID concerns are changing one event in the upcoming Agassiz Fall Fair and Corn Festival – but fun for all ages still awaits on the mid-September weekend.

The organizers of the Fall Fair announced on Sunday (Aug. 29) that they are cancelling all exhibits inside the Agricultural Hall for this year, but the colouring contest for all three children’s age categories is still on. Details on the colouring contest are to be announced.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has yet to announce whether or not it approves of the parade. The District of Kent gave the parade their blessing during a meeting last month.

Barring a change in COVID-19 trends and potential further provincial guidelines, many of the events are still on the table for the upcoming fair. Events include beer gardens, stage entertainment (including corn husking and goat milking), the Corn King/Queen competition, the West Coast Amusements carnival and the tractor pull.

This year’s theme is “Agassiz Strong.”
