An Agassiz sex offender accused of child pornography-related charges is out on bail, according to court documents.
Ivan Styles posted $5,000 bail on June 7 and was released, according to information from Chilliwack Law Courts.
Styles is accused of one count of possession of child pornography while being out on bail for further child pornography charges stemming back to 2019. He was arrested at his Agassiz home in May.
He appeared in Abbotsford Law Courts on June 2, facing the charge from an incident that allegedly took place on April 7.
Styles was living in Agassiz on probation following a conviction in Oct. 2021 on three counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of breach of undertaking or recognizance. At the time, he was given a nine-month conditional sentence order and four years of probation.
Styles was arrested earlier this year for allegedly breaching court-ordered conditions. An investigation from the Agassiz RCMP subsequently uncovered what police believe to be child pornography on one of Styles’ devices.
Styles’ next court appearance is scheduled for July 4.
