Two patients were taken to hospital, one by helicopter, with undetermined injuries Sunday after colliding on Westside Road.

North Okanagan RCMP responded to reports of the 1:15 p.m. collision involving two vehicles in the 11000 block of Westside Road in Vernon.

Officers determined a pickup truck crossed the centre line of the road and collided with a minivan.

An air ambulance landed on scene at around 2:30 p.m. and a ground ambulance was seen leaving 10 minutes prior, with lights and sirens on.

The driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck and passenger of the minivan were transported to hospital.

The crash had traffic at a standstill for more than an hour before single-lane traffic was put in effect.

RCMP continue to investigate the collision.
