Despite a few days of slight reprieve from the smoky skies, Williams Lake is once again enveloped in a shroud of smoke, leading to the return of high risk health conditions.
At 4 p.m. the particulate matter hourly reading was 312.5 micrograms per cubic metre and the 24-hour reading was 146.4 micrograms per cubic metre, per the Ministry of Environment Air Quality Health Index map.

The smoky conditions are expected to continue into tomorrow, reaching very high health risk conditions.
Those who are most vulnerable and sensitive to the effects of air pollution are urged to recognize when air quality is deteriorating and protect their health accordingly.
Drive BC is reporting limited visibility with smoke on Highway 20 from Williams Lake to Riske Creek and Tatla Lake to Alexis Creek.
Motorists can also expect limited visibility with smoke both north and south of Williams Lake on Highway 97 and the Likely and Horsefly Junction to 150 Mile House.
