United Way is driving change forward on issues like literacy and disability services, and members of the public can get a front row seat on Oct. 29.
“Our Seeing is Believing Bus Tour allows you to see how real people receive help every day through the United Way,” said Marla O’Brien, executive director.
“You get to meet the charities, ask lots of questions, and really come away understanding how we work as a community to impact many different social issues.”
O’Brien says United Way targets change where it is needed the most.
“This tour will be focused on programs in our poverty to possibility and strong communities investment areas,” says O’Brien. The tour will visit agencies like Pathways Abilities Society, CNIB, Project Literacy, Canadian Mental Health Association, and SHARE Society.
The Seeing is Believing Bus Tour is proudly sponsored by Your Dollar Store with More. United Way is accepting registrations for the free bus tour which will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, visiting five charity locations. Lunch is provided.
