Sicamous residents will have at least two opportunities to hear from and question candidates vying for their votes in the coming municipal election.

The Sicamous Chamber of Commerce will host the first all-candidates forum on Thursday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m. at the Seniors Centre.

A second all-candidates forum will take place at the Seniors Centre on Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. While all are welcome to attend, this forum will be geared towards Sicamous seniors.

To date, the District of Sicamous lists seven unofficial candidates in the running for council and one for mayor.

Running for council are Fred Busch, Don Richardson, Terry Sinton, Terry Rysz and Joan Thomson. Lorraine March is running for mayor.

Charlotte Hutchinson, Sheldon Ready and Greg Kyllo have told the News they will also make a bid for council, and Mayor Malcolm MacLeod has said he will seek a second term as mayor.

Jerry Silva is the only incumbent councillor who remains undecided if he’ll seek re-election.
