This year’s honoree is Lorraine Chambers of Clearwater/Birch Island, a faithful carer for her husband Don after he was diagnosed with Dementia six years ago.

Here are some ways you can show your support for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia, for research into ways to ease their woes, and in assisting affected families.

Look for volunteers at Buy-Low who are participating and pledge them.

Alzheimer’s Society of BC will send tax-deductible receipts for donations of $15 and up.

Buy raffle tickets: $4 each or three for $10.

Awesome prizes, all donated, include a two-night stay at Montana Hill Guest Ranch west of Bridge Lake, a compact refrigerator from Home Depot, and both a full day and a half day rafting trip on Clearwater River with Interior Whitewater Rafting.

Phone Kay at 250-674-2790 if you wish to collect pledges.

Walk on Sunday, May 5 in Barriere around a level part of the town.

If Clearwater and environs have enough walkers, a transit bus can be arranged.

This fun event includes lunch at the Barriere seniors’ hall with door prizes, silent auction, and more.

All ages are welcome.
