On Friday, November 27th at 7:30 p.m. at Okanagan College theatre, 1000 KLO Road, Kelowna’s Amnesty International group is presenting “Fierce Light”, a documentary about the movement of spiritual activism for change around the world.
Paul Hawken, author of “Blessed Unrest,” describes the movement as the largest in history with thousands of individuals and organizations connected by a shared commitment to compassionate, positive action. Director Velcrow Ripper’s film reveals what is possible when human beings, faced with a world in crisis, rise to their absolute best.
Featured are South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, U.S. civil rights activist and congressman John Lewis, actor Daryl Hannah, author Alice Walker, Buddhist peace activist monk, Thich Nhat Hahn, and others.
