For Kiaya Morrisey, the thrill of playing sports is endless.
The bubbly Grade 9 student at Fort St. James Secondary School is excited for the new school year ahead, whether on the court or on the local trails.
Morrisey takes part in various school sports including: volleyball, soccer, basketball and mountain biking.
“Basketball is my absolute favorite though,” Morrisey said.
“I love the go, go, go of the game and just everything about it.”
“Playing sports gives me something to look forward to and the school is small enough so you really get to know everyone on your team and there’s not so much competition to be the best.”
But Morrisey is also known for her good grades and helpful nature.
“When in conversation with teachers, Kiaya’s name always comes up,” said Craig Houghton, Principal at Fort St. James Secondary School.
“She’s a hard worker with good grades, she’s a good athlete and she’s always willing to help out others.”
