Due to dry conditions, the provincial government will be implementing a level four drought rating for Vancouver Island, which will also include the suspending of angling in streams and rivers throughout southern Vancouver Island, including Cowichan River, due to low stream flows and warming water temperatures. Residents are also urged to limit their water use as much as possible.
