Coastal Animal Control services provided their year-end report to the Government Services Committee on Jan. 17.
In 2010, the company dealt with 18 impounded dogs. Of those, 16 were claimed and two were put up for adoption. There were no euthanizations.
Workers received and investigated 83 calls throughout 2010: 15 for aggressive dogs; 35 for dogs at large; 20 noise complaints; 12 other dog non-specific calls; and one livestock/cats/wildlife call.
There were nine after-hours call outs.
The 2010 board and impound fees reached $1,995.00 and a $100 ticket was handed out for ‘Dog not effectively controlled.’
In 2010, 16 tags were issued equalling $500.
