Both Nak’albun and David Hoy Elementary Schools in Fort St. James were eager to greet all sorts of characters on the morning of Oct. 31 in Fort St. James.
From princesses, dragons, super heroes, ghostly ghouls and witches, students were excited to partake in the day’s festivities complete with pumpkin carving and a school dance.
The much anticipated Pumpkin Walk is always a highlight as 300 pumpkins carved by students at both elementary schools light up the walkways throughout the Historic Park in Fort St. James.
The pumpkins were purchased by the District of Fort St. James.
As children made their rounds along the walk, some were unsure about what was lurking behind the doors of each dark building they entered.
They were greeted with relief by all sorts of mysterious creatures from Friends of the Historic Park who were ready to drop a treat into their bags.
The Fort St. James Fire Dept. offered a warm fire on a cool crisp Halloween evening.
And the first annual Zombie Walk seemed to be a hit as drooling rotting zombies hit the streets, starting at Pioneer Cemetery in Fort St. James.
