Anyonymous tips help police solve crimes

NANAIMO – RCMP have a number of unsolved files which they hope the public can help solve.

2013-14088

On June 4 someone tried to break into unit No. 12 at 9 Buttertubs Place. The unknown person attempted to gain entry by prying open the front window.

 

2013-14279

On June 7 at approximately 9:15 p.m. an iPhone 4s was stolen from a locker at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre. The owner said the phone had been  accidentally left in an unlocked cubicle in the family change room. At the time of the theft, there was a female and her son in the change room. When questioned, they immediately became defensive. The smart phone is white and has a pink bottom.

 

2013-15069

On June 14 at approximately 9:15 p.m., four or five youths were seen dropping pop cans off the Doumont Road overpass onto the Nanaimo Parkway. There were no reports of vehicles being struck.

 

2013-15194

On June 15 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a male was seen with his pants down and exposing himself at a bus shelter on Bowen Road near Northfield Road. The suspect is a white male in his 20s, wearing a dark coloured hooded jacket. Police attended but could not find him.

 

2013-15344

Sometime between June 15-17, a home under construction on Menzies Ridge was broken into. Entry was made via a sliding glass door and a side door. A 10-inch Makita compound mitre chop saw, a 12-inch Dewalt compound mitre chop saw, a Bostich coil nailer, an Bostich 18-gauge pinner, a Makita skill saw, a Dewalt cordless 18-volt drill, a Dewalt small compressor, a Milwaukee hole hawg and a Dewalt reciprocating saw were stolen.

 

2013-15394 Sometime between June 15-18, a home in the 200 block of Princess Street was broken into. Entry was made through a window from the alley way and a computer was stolen.

 

2013-12210

Over the past two months police have received five reports of an adult female going door-to-door passing herself off as either a caregiver, social worker or nurse. Her intent is to convince the homeowner to allow her inside their home and once in the door, she will steal anything she can get her hands on. In one case, she attempted to steal from a 101-year-old woman The suspect female is white, approximately 5’5” and has shoulder length brown hair. She sometimes wears a baseball cap. She might be accompanied by another white female or First Nations male.

 

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for these crimes.
