Appreciation for South Okanagan first responders

The Penticton Western News and the Penticton Vees are giving first responders free hockey tickets

The Penticton Vees and the Penticton Western News are getting together to show their appreciation for the work of local emergency services crews.

This Saturday’s B.C. Hockey League game between the Vees and the Nanaimo Clippers at the South Okanagan Events Centre has been designated First Responder Night.

All emergency medical technicians (EMTs) paramedics, police officers and search and rescue members are eligible for a complimentary ticket to the game with identification.

“The Penticton Vees Junior Hockey recognize and work with different organizations in the community. We felt the first responders work hard for our community. This is a way to highlight their hard work and say thank-you for all they do,” said Western News publisher Kim Cook.

Game time is 6 p.m.
