April 6 public hearing scheduled for condo proposal at Dalby’s automotive site

Developer seeks bylaw ammendments for five-storey condo building

The Town of Ladysmith will be holding a public hearing for a proposed five-storey 25 unit condo building at 201/203 Dogwood Drive. The hearing will take place via Zoom on April 6, 2021.

The proponent is seeking to amend Official Community Plan Bylaw 2003, No. 1488″ and “Zoning Bylaw 2014, No. 1860”.

If approved Bylaw No. 2062 and Bylaw No. 2063 will amend:

1. the Official Community Plan by changing the designation on the subject properties from Local Commercial to Multi-Family Residential, adding Development Permit Area 4 – Multi-Unit Residential, and amending policies in the Multi-Family Residential designation; and

2. the Zoning Bylaw by changing the zone from Local Commercial (C-1) to a new zone, Multi-Family Mixed- Use (R-4);

for a proposed 25 unit, five storey multi-family residential building with potential for small-scale commercial uses on the ground floor.

A copy of the proposed Bylaws and related information may be viewed at the Town of Ladysmith City Hall located at 410 Esplanade, Ladysmith, BC, or the Development Services office located at 132C Roberts Street, until April 6, 2021. Office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm, excluding statutory holidays.
