It’s time to get out your cowboy boots and hats and head down to Queen Charlotte Saturday, (June 23) for the country-and-western-themed Hospital Day.There are going to be all kinds of fun and activities going on all day inside and outside of the community hall, including the regular field activities for kids, the inflatable castle and bungee run, lots of booths, and a few new attractions this year. The pancake breakfast goes from 8-10 am, finishing up just in time for everyone to head outside for the parade that starts at 10:30. Horses are going to be marching in the parade this year, showing off some of the western theme, and they will be giving out rides later. Also new, and with the theme, is the pony bounce, inflatable ponies that you can ride on and bounce around. “We expect them to be a lot of fun,” said Hospital Day organizer Ellen Cranston. Food vendor booths open outside of the hall at 11 am, and there’s going to be lots, including burgers, hot dogs, cotton candy, corn and fruit kebobs. There’s also going to be a country-and0western themed lunch happening in the hall, which is going to be decorated. Once the activities of the day are all done the dance, usually one of the year’s biggest, starts up with live music, and will run from 10 pm until 2 am. Tickets are available all over town. Hope to see you there! Yee-haw!
