Dozens of brave souls took the plunge on New Year’s Day in Williams Lake at the annual Polar Bear Swim, hosted in support of youth rugby and organized this year by Brad Bulow. It was a chilly -9C below outside and 0.8C in the water for the afternoon jump with a brisk wind. Ice on the lake measured 10 inches thick.
