An area restriction order to protect the public where there is ongoing fire suppression activities south of Vanderhoof is in effect.
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) implemented an area restriction order for the vicinity of the Grizzly Lake wildfire 6 p.m. Saturday, July 24.
Under the order a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area without the prior written authorization of a designated official unless travelling to or from their residence; using a Highway as defined in the Highway Act; travelling through or entering the area as a person acting in an official capacity or for an approved purpose of supporting fire suppression activities.

The order applies to Crown land and will remain in place until September 30, 2021, or until it is rescinded.
Failure to comply may result in a violation ticket for $1,150, said BCWS.
As of Sunday, July 25, the lightning-caused blaze estimated at 4,891 hectares was classified as being held.
BCWS said guards had been constructed around 100 per cent of the fire.
An evacuation order and alert was rescinded in their entirety Friday, July 23, by the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako.
Since April 1, 2021, wildfires in B.C. have burned more than 400,000 hectares of land.
