A historic Armstrong landmark went on the auction block this week.
The Armstrong Hotel – located at 3495 Okanagan Street, built in the 1890s, also known to locals as the “Blue Hotel” – sold for $245,000 to an unidentified buyer.
The auction was conducted by Edmonton-based Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers.
Former owner Dave Prebushewski declined to comment on the sale. Prebushewski owned the historic hotel for five years.
According to the auction site, the Armstrong Hotel has “14 guest rooms and two self-contained guest suites with kitchen and laundry, and a saloon and restaurant.”
It’s a three-storey building with basement; a 50-seat licensed dining room; 100-seat pub; a fully-equipped commercial kitchen with a laundry room on each floor.
Auction notes also indicate the purchaser will need to apply to the B.C. Liquor Control Board and the B.C. Liquor Distribution Board to assume the hotel’s liquor licence.
