Around 2,400 people temporarily lose power in Castlegar

Fortis BC crews haven't determined the cause of the outage yet

Around 2,400 customers lost their power around Castlegar on Monday afternoon, according to FortisBC spokesperson Jas Baweja.

The outage lasted between 1:20 p.m. and 2:54 p.m. and included the downtown core, Arrow Lakes Drive and Kinnaird.

FortisBC was able to reroute electricity from other areas of the electricity grid to bring the power back.

It’s not known exactly how the outage occurred.
