Arrest made in Hein Road raid

The 29-year-old Kelowna man remains in police custody expected to appear in Court on Monday.

Various units of the Kelowna RCMP converged on a Hein Road residence to execute a search warrant Friday night and took into custody a 29-year-old Kelowna man.

On May 6, 2016 the Kelowna RCMPprolific offender suppression team, along with the support the detachment’s general duty section, street enforcement team and the emergency response team converged on a residence in the 400 block of Hein Road.

“RCMP executed a warrant on the property which yielded the seizure of a prohibited firearm and ammunition,” said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey, in a press release.

The investigation is ongoing. Contrary to reports in the media, there were no coroner at the scene.
