Arrowsmith Search and Rescue crews helped locate a 70-year-old woman who went missing in the Nanoose Bay area on Aug. 30.
ASAR was called in to assist the Oceanside RCMP at approximately 2:30 a.m. More than 20 ASAR members were quickly deployed and went to scour the area. The woman was located along Highway 19 just after 3:30 a.m.
The RCMP canine unit was also used in the the search was key in locating the woman.

Meanwhile, ASAR continues to raise funds to pay for its new operations centre currently being built at the Qualicum Beach Airport. This month, an anonymous donor has agreed to double any donations received, up to $20,000.

The organization will hold an open house at its new operations centre on Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be family-friendly activities, displays, informational booths, and live training demonstrations.
