RCMP Cpl. J.R. Michaud has switched offices at the Ashcroft Detachment. The 10-year veteran and head of the Central Interior Traffic Services (Ashcroft) has temporarily assumed command at the Detachment while the Detachment waits for Sgt. Dave Prentice’s replacement – Cpl. Michel Grondin who is currently serving in Salmon Arm.
Once Grondin arrives, Michaud will return to his Traffic Services duties. Until then, Cst. Brodie Ferris is in charge of the Traffic Services office.
Sgt. Prentice began his new duties in Kamloops on July 1.
Michaud says the Detachment is ready for the summer, with six general duty members. There are always at least two officers on duty to answer calls all the time, while other Detachments in the Interior and Okanagon are helping them cover vacation shortages.
