100 Mile House area resident also facing numerous other charges

100 Mile House area resident Phillip Thomas May was in 100 Mile House provincial court on Nov. 14-15 and will appear again on Jan. 27, 2015.

The 59-year-old was charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident on May 31.

100 Mile House RCMP responded to a complaint of a man in distress in the 7000 block of 93 Mile Loop Road.

When officers attended scene, they found a 39-year-old 100 Mile House area man who had been shot. Suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries, he was rushed to hospital, and later released.

When May was identified as a suspect in the shooting incident, RCMP members went to a Lone Butte area to arrest him.

When they arrived, the police confirmed May was present, but he fled the residence, hopped into a vehicle and raced away from the scene.

RCMP officers eventually arrested the suspect after they forced the escape vehicle off the road.

May is facing other charges, including aggravated assault, using a firearm to cause bodily harm and flight from a police officer. He remains in custody.
