Avalanche control in Rogers Pass

1 to 2 hour individual closures in Glacier National Park are expected, says DriveBC

It may be raining down in the valley, but it’s snowing up in the mountains. DriveBC is reporting there will be avalanche control taking place in Rogers Pass today.

They say to expect 1 to 2 hour individual closures between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from the east boundary of Glacier National Park to the west Boundary of Glacier National Park. There is no detour available.

On Hwy. 1 DriveBC is reporting compact snow, limited visibility, fog and blowing snow.

On Hwy. 23 DriveBC reports slushy and slippery sections with fallen ice and debris on the road 20km south of Revelstoke.

The high in Revelstoke today is +6.

Environment Canada is forecasting rain mixed with wet snow which is expected to end around noon.
