Awards gala honours best of Terrace

Cafenara picks up two of the 14 awards chosen through public voting process

The 15th Annual Business Excellence Awards unfolded with much glitz and glamour at the Best Western Inn on Saturday.

From their tables on the leopard print carpet the 185 attendees watched 14 trophies presented by various business sponsors to Terrace’s top businesses, employees, volunteers and newsmaker.

There were three finalists in each category selected by judges appointed by the Terrace & District Chamber of Commerce who hosted the gala event.

The chamber received 881 unique online votes and 100 paper votes from the public to decide the winners.

The following are the winners in each category:

Welcoming & Inclusive Workplaces Award: Cafenara

Tourism Excellence Award: Farmer’s Market Association

Home-Based Business Award: Cracked Glass

Contributor to the Arts Award: Pacific NW Music Festival

Community Booster Award: Yvonne Moen

Employee of the Year Award: Sharon Banovic from Misty River Books

Volunteer of the Year Award: Angela Rabut

Rookie of the Year Award: Grill & Chill Restaurant

Retailer of the Year Award: Misty River Books

Newsmaker of the Year Award: Terrace Search & Rescue

Executive of the Year Award: Dana Hart

Company of the Year Award: Kondolas

Customer Service Award: Cafenara
