Minister of Education for B.C.
This week is Education Week, and it is a great time to celebrate B.C.’s exceptional education system and the improvements we are making together with our partners to make it even better.
The world is changing, and parents expect us to make sure kids have the skills they need to succeed. B.C. students rank first in the English-speaking world in reading, science and math, and we are building on that success.
We are one year into our three-year implementation of the new curriculum.
This personalized learning approach will ensure that students learn the basics like reading, writing and arithmetic in a way that connects them with the communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills they need to succeed after high school.
I am committed to making sure that we continue to move forward to give students the education and training today that puts them first in line for jobs tomorrow.
No one does this alone, though, and I want to thank all the students, teachers, parents, and the entire education sector for helping us build this system together.
