Nanaimo residents are invited to learn more about the B.C. Conservative Party and meet leadership candidate John Cummins on Saturday (May 7).

The free event takes place at 3 p.m. at the Oliver Woods Community Centre at 6000 Oliver Rd.

Nick Rvachew, membership director for the Nanaimo B.C. Conservative Constituency Association, said the event is a chance for anyone from the general public to come and learn more about the party and its platform and vision for B.C.

Cummins, former federal MP for Delta-Richmond East and the only leadership candidate, will be on hand to answer questions.

The B.C. Conservative Party holds its leadership convention May 28 in Vancouver.

Cummins also has a stop in Duncan planned Saturday at 11 a.m. and will travel to Parksville following the Nanaimo meet and greet to attend a dinner at the Tigh-Na-Mara Resort and Spa.

For more information, please call Rvachew at 250-729-8707.
