Auditor General releases scathing report on government bookkeeping practices

The Legislative Assembly Management Committee is under scrutiny since B.C. Auditor General John Doyle’s recent audit opinion pointed to irregularities, poor governance and a recorded deficit $500 million under his calculations.

Internal control deficiencies are “so serious and pervasive” he was unable to conclude if the balance sheets were correct, he added.
