A Vancouver elementary school teacher has been removed from their classroom after allegedly using the N-word in a worksheet distributed to students.

The teacher, who works at Trafalgar Elementary in the city’s West End, will remain suspended as the school board investigates the situation, it confirmed in an email Wednesday.

The board said it could not speak to specifics, nor confirm the teacher’s identity, as the labour relations investigation continues.
