Steve Zika, CEO of Hampton Affiliates, today announced in Burns Lake the conditional rebuilding of the Babine Forest Products mill.  A final decision of the Hampton board of directors in December should formalize agreements made between provincial, First Nations, Village of Burns Lake and industry partners to  pour concrete early in the new year.  Logging to supply the new and modernized mill is expected to begin in 2013 with the mill opening for operations in 2014.  The new mill is expected to employ up to two-thirds of its original work force in a two shift operation.
