Not all big lottery wins come in the form of matching six or seven numbers. Some winners buy a Scratch & Win ticket and are literally, set for life.
Barriere’s Sheron Rehbein and Daniel Comeau are B.C.’s latest lottery winners after they scratched their way to a “crazy, awesome” $675,000 win with a Set for Life lottery ticket.
“I usually buy the crosswords, I don’t know what drew me to this ticket this particular time,” said Sheron. “As soon as I saw the three matching symbols I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t wait to tell Dan.”
There are a few must-haves on the pair’s immediate list of things to do and buy. Sheron leans to the sentimental side of things. “My dad gave me a ring, it’s an antique now and I’d like to get it restored,” she said.
Dan, on the other hand, noted, “Although we still feel numb, a new camper would be great, and this will definitely help with retirement. I would love to buy some property with a cabin, and maybe have some animals. Something like that has always been a dream.”
The pair purchased their Set for Life ticket at the 7-Eleven on 8th Street in Kamloops.
Lottery players in B.C. redeemed more than $233 million in prize winning lottery tickets between Jan 1, 2018 and Dec 17, 2018.
